Date & Time: Wednesday, 8th May, 7.30pm

Venue: Spazju Kreattiv, Studio B

Entanglement is one of the most mysterious and astonishing features of quantum mechanics.

No doubt that Einstein would have been amazed to see how what he famously called “spooky action at a distance” is now the basis of completely new technologies. In this talk Prof. Andre Xuereb from the Department of Physics, Faculty of Science at the University of Malta will introduce the concept of entanglement starting from scratch. Prof. Xuereb will show how together with a group of researchers recently entangled Malta and Sicily, and will explain how this fantastic new tool can help give humanity super-secure communication systems, super-fast computers, and teleportation.
