In a world increasingly dominated by the influence of social media, it is imperative that we delve into the profound questions raised by technology’s impact on our lives. On November 14th, ĊineXjenza will present an exclusive screening of the thought-provoking documentary “The Social Dilemma,” followed by an expert-led discussion focusing on the societal impact of social media as portrayed in the film. The event will take place at Spazju Kreattiv Cinema in Valletta, starting at 7:00 PM.
“The Social Dilemma,” directed by Jeff Orlowski, is a groundbreaking documentary that delves deep into the dark underbelly of social media and its consequences on society. Following the screening, expert guest speakers will lead a discussion that delves into the science and ethics behind social media platforms. Among them, Professor Andrew Azzopardi, Dean of the Faculty for Social Wellbeing and Professor of Community Development and Disability Studies at the University of Malta will shine a light on the societal implications of technology and community development. The event will also include the participation of student organisations BetaPsi and the Criminology Students’ Association.
