In an era dominated by cutting-edge technologies, the rise of Artificial Intelligence and its influence on some key aspects of society has emerged as a critical focal point for scientists. Dr Vanessa Camilleri, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Artificial Intelligence, Faculty of ICT of the University of Malta is investigating the implications of AI use on our every-day life and how we can tackle the future challenges of this inevitable transformation. Join her talk on February 6th 2024, 7pm hosted by the Malta Café Scientifique in Studio B at Spazju Kreattiv to uncover ethical considerations in light of a high-tech future.
As AI becomes more integrated into daily existence, ethical questions surrounding privacy, transparency, accountability, and bias cannot be overlooked.
While exploring the symbiotic relationship between AI and society, the talk will examine how AI technologies are reshaping industries, from healthcare and public governance to education and entertainment. Vanessa will delve into the advantages brought about by AI-driven automation and data analysis, while posing new potential challenges such as job displacement and algorithmic bias.
