Feb 2016 – Creation

Without evolution biology does not make sense. Evolution explains the beautiful diverse life around us. Creation is a film about the scientist who discovered this theory, Charles Darwin.

The film shows his struggles while writing On the Origin of the Species. It highlights his conflict between science and faith as he formulates his theory on evolution and also the effect it had on the relationship he had with his wife Emma.

CineXjenza aims to spark discussion on science topics raised in films. Following the screening of Creation, together with guest speaker Dr Sandro Lanfranco (University of
Malta), join in the discussion on evolution. Lanfranco is a leading expert on Malta’s ecology after decades of research.

CineXjenza is supported by the Faculty of Science Centenary Celebrations and the Faculty of ICT. It is run by S-Cubed – Science Students’ Society and the Malta Chamber of Scientists.
