Dez 2016 – Moon

The film ‘Moon’ talks about Sam Bell who experiences a personal crisis nearing the end of a three-year solitary period working on the moon together with his computer GERTY. With no direct communication between the station and Earth, and only GERTY to tend to his daily needs he begins to hallucinate. After getting into an accident he discovers something that will make him attempt to get back to Earth alone, while questioning his own sanity.

CineXjenza aims to spark discussion on science topics raised in films. Following the screening of Moon, guest speakers Dr Jackson Levi Said and Dr Edward Duca from the University of Malta will initiate a discussion on astrophysics and human cloning. Duca is a geneticist while Said a cosmologist.

This event will be held on the 14th of December at 7:00 pm at Spazju Kreattiv (Cinema Room).

CineXjenza is supported by the STEAM and Erasmus+. It is run by the Malta Chamber of Scientists, Spazju Kreattiv and S-Cubed.
