Thursday 28th September 2017

Scientists will be participating in the 6th annual Science in the House exhibition at 11:00 am on Thursday 28th September.

Science in the House is the official opening event of the prestigious science & arts festival, Science in the City, European Researchers’ Night on Friday 29th September. The format is a media event showcasing the exciting scientific research at the University of Malta, and elsewhere in Malta, for discussion with Members of Parliament. The event is held in the Parliament Building in Valletta.

The call for application for this year’s event is now closed. Participation is subject to peer-review. The evaluation panel considered the quality of the application, research excellence based on high-impact journal publications, training of graduate students and postdoctoral researchers, and social and economic impact of the research. Selected participants are encouraged to submit a manuscript for publication to Xjenza Online (www.mcs.org.mt/xjenza).

The event is part-financed by the Framework Program of the European Commission (Horizon 2020) and organised by the Malta Chamber of Scientists, and the Research Trust (RIDT) of the University of Malta, on behalf of the Science in the City consortium. The event is hosted by the Hon. Dr. Anġlu Farrugia, The Speaker of the House of Representatives.
